I was born in the Yarra Junction Bush Nursing Hospital and raised in Gladysdale. After a stint overseas I came back to settle and raise my four children.

I’ve worked in community education for most of my life. I started my career as a community development worker at Women’s Health East, then became CEO of the Upper Yarra Community House in Yarra Junction in 1992.

Under my leadership, UYCH became one of the biggest service providers in the region, one of the largest employers, and a multi million-dollar business that puts people first. Now named Cire Services, the work continues.

While running UYCH I took on some study and gained tertiary qualifications in community development and education, including a Master of Education from Monash University.

Later, I became a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. I’m now on the board of ACFE (Adult Community and Further Education) and Adult Learning Australia. I’m also the Deputy Chair of the Bendigo Bank for Warburton and Yarra Junction Community Banks.

I work all over the state, supporting community organisations to provide education, children’s services, skills training, and meaningful alternative education programs for young people.

Like you, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges facing families, young people, older Australians and people working in changing industries.

As your elected representative, I’ll advocate for better schools for our kids, more quality jobs for our region, and better skills and training services to keep people in the workforce.

These are my values and I hope I can count on your support to make these positive changes in our region.
